Job Details

Placer County is hiring Engineers. This is an excellent opportunity to work for one of the fastest growing Counties in California. We offer a generous and comprehensive benefit package including health, dental and vision insurance. Employees accrue vacation and sick leave and receive 12 paid holidays plus two floating holidays a year.

As an employee of Placer County, you are enrolled in CalPERS with the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from the largest public pension fund in the United States.

Currently, the Department of Public Works (DPW) has vacancies in the Environmental Engineering Division, the Western Placer Waste Management Authority (WPWMA), and the Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering. The Community Development Resource Agency has a vacancy in the Building Services Division.

Minimum qualifications include five years of increasingly responsible experience in engineering, including two years of supervisory responsibility, equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field, and possession of a Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in an appropriate discipline as issued by the State of California. Note: Relevant, equivalent experience may be substituted for the required education as determined by the Human Resources Department. Applicants receiving their degree outside the United States must submit proof of accreditation by a recognized evaluation agency.

Placer County is comprised of over 1,400 square miles of beautiful and diverse geography, ranging from the residential and commercial areas of South Placer, westward through the historic foothill areas of Auburn, Foresthill, and Colfax, and to the County's jewel of the North Lake Tahoe basin. Placer is a great place to live, work, play and learn. For more information about Placer County, please visit
