Bouygues TP are looking for a civil works engineer interested in a challenging and rewarding opportunity, the project will improve the safety and efficiency of the Tyne Tunnel in Newcastle.

Bouygues TP is a leading civil engineering contractor with a strong track record of delivering complex and innovative projects across the world. We are currently working on the remedial works of the Northbound Tyne Tunnel, which involves installing fire stops, repairing damage, conducting corrosion surveys, and managing water in the tunnel.

We are looking for two site engineers to join our team and assist the site management in overseeing the work and ensuring quality standards. You will also liaise with designers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, and keep accurate records of the materials and activities on site.

The contract duration is 14 months from December 2023, but this may be extended. The location will be at our London head office for the first two months, and then full time on Tyne Tunnel, next to Newcastle.

To be eligible for this role, you need to have:
  • A degree in civil engineering or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in tunnel construction or maintenance
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing site conditions and requirements
