You will serve as a project manager on major water utility projects in the Waterworks’ Asset Sustainability Division. This is a fast-paced position with many moving parts that will require you to have excellent organization and communications skills! You will be responsible for identifying, researching, planning the scope of work, and drafting requests for proposals while also assisting in the selection of contractors. This position directs both in-house staff and consultant design work to replace and extend our distribution system and water supply pipelines. This includes planning, analysis, design, and construction projects across a regional service area that make each day unique and rewarding.
In addition to directing staff and serving as project manager, this position participates in Waterworks’ Asset Management Program and Capital Improvement Plan development for this important asset group. How much money can I make?
The salary range for this position is $80k - $137k. Salary ranges are competitive based on qualifications and experience. In addition to salary, the City offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to meet all our employee’s needs.
What are the qualifications for this position? Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field from an accredited college or university, 3 – 5 years of progressively responsible experience, and 1 – 2 years of supervisory/lead experience. Must possess and maintain a current Engineer-in-Training (EIT) license from the Commonwealth of Virginia. A current Professional Engineer (PE) license from the Commonwealth of Virginia is preferred.
