Job Details
Position Overview: This position will lead and support asset management planning activities. The asset management program is a priority departmental initiative to produce actions plans, process improvements and associated tools for proactive management of storm water infrastructure. Responsibilities include performing and leading staff in engineering assignments and providing deliverables which include asset specific management plans, data analysis, and priority infrastructure project lists. This position may provide technical guidance to engineers and staff within the department, in addition to coordinating and reviewing work with consultant design teams, WPD field personnel, and internal/external stakeholders. Related project delivery responsibilities will include serving as a CIP project sponsor and/or project design engineer for In-House Project Delivery Program projects that aim to repair, renew, or upgrade storm water infrastructure to address potential impacts from impaired, undersized or lack of storm water infrastructure. SALARY: Graduate Engineer B: $35.04 – $44.67 Engineer A: $38.97 – $50.67 Engineer B: $41.70 – $54.21 Engineer C: $44.62 – $58.01
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate Engineer B
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a related field, plus two (2) years of experience in engineering.
Engineer A
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years of engineering experience acquired before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.
Engineer B
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to engineering, plus six (6) years of experience in engineering acquired before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.
Engineer C
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus eight (8) years of engineering experience acquired before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Engineer A, Engineer B, and Engineer C levels: Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas; or if currently licensed in another state, must have the ability to obtain a Texas P.E. license within six (6) months of employment. Graduate Engineer B level requires a State of Texas Engineer-Training Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with asset management principles and decision processes. Direct experience in the design and construction of projects to maintain, repair, renew, or upgrade stormwater infrastructure projects. Proficient in drainage analysis and familiarity with stormwater quality controls. Proficient in ArcGIS and Microsoft Office. Experience with utilizing work order management systems, such as Maximo. The ability to travel to more than one work location.
Hours
40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
May require working outside of normal business hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as dictated by business needs.
