My client's London office, comprising a team of 15 professionals, is a dynamic and collaborative environment specializing in structural engineering with a focus on historic structures and conservation projects. Led by their esteemed Technical Director, and supported by two Associates and a team of experienced engineers and technicians, they take pride in their diverse portfolio of iconic projects.

Type of Work:

Their work spans a variety of sectors, including commercial projects, refurbishments up to £15 million, bridge engineering, conversions, and extensions. They have a strong emphasis on conservation work, undertaking projects in museums, country houses, and notable landmarks such as the extension to Nottingham Castle and Coggeshall - MD House. Their expertise extends to 2-3 storey new builds and high-end houses, with a focus on heritage preservation.

Job Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the team to deliver high-quality structural engineering solutions for historic and conservation projects.
Conduct structural analysis, design, and assessment of diverse structures.
Work closely with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide innovative engineering solutions.
Participate in site visits, inspections, and assessments as necessary.
Contribute to the development and growth of the historic structures and conservation practice within the firm.

Person specifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
3-5 years of relevant experience in structural engineering.
Strong interest in historic structures and conservation projects.
Demonstrated experience in commercial projects, refurbishments, and heritage preservation.
Familiarity with 2-3 storey new builds and high-end residential projects.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Desired Qualifications:

Chartered status or working towards chartered status.
Experience in conservation work, especially in museums and country houses.
