Service Engineer - Water
Alecto Recruitment are currently representing an established family business based in Somerset, who are now looking to recruit a Wastewater Service Engineer.
As experts in the design, construction and maintenance of sewage and surface water solutions for over 40 years, we are inviting applications from individuals with basic electrical and mechanical experience within the water sector, who live within a sensible commute of Taunton.
The role:
As Senior Service Engineer, the primary function of the role will be to provide preventative and reactive service maintenance to a range of sewage treatment and potable water systems, commissioning of newly installed systems and performance monitoring of these systems.
As a field based engineer, you will work independently in largely rural locations with occasions to work within and manage a small team.
You will also scope, lead and deliver MEP projects across sewage and water-related disciplines.
Day to day duties include:
Fault diagnosis, repair, maintenance and installation on a range of sewage treatment and water pumping systems
Performance monitoring of sewage treatment and water pumping systems including the sampling of final effluent, field testing of ammoniacal nitrogen, dissolved oxygen and noise levels.
Prepare reports of service activities.
Commissioning of completed installations with relevant documentation.
Liaise with customers and act as an ambassador for all departments.
The candidate:
To be considered for this role you must have basic electrical and mechanical experience ideally with the wastewater / pump sector, with technically minded problem solving capability.
Knowledge of package sewage treatment plants, pump stations, air compressors, and similar equipment will be beneficial.
Knowledge of water-testing would be beneficial.
Full clean drivers licence;
Must be computer literate. Familiarity with Excel and Word would be beneficial;
British Water Accredited Service Engineer would be beneficial;
Confined spaces qualification would be beneficial;
Manual handling qualification would be beneficial;
18th edition electrical qualification would be beneficial.
Package:
£32,000 - £37,000 per annum
45 hour week Monday to Friday
Preferential overtime rates
