Our Water consultancy client is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer out of their Newcastle office on a hybrid working basis.

Our client is working in partnership with Northumbrian Water and wider stakeholders to develop innovative, sustainable and efficient solutions to their needs by applying genuinely new ways of working. They are looking for individuals who think differently and love to challenge conventional thinking to join us in a growing, collaborative team of likeminded engineers working to meet the unprecedented industry-wide efficiency and net zero challenges.

You will be part of an established civils team based in picturesque Quayside offices, with opportunities to take on new responsibilities and challenges, whilst becoming a key member of a diverse, multi-disciplined team with the opportunity to work on projects locally and across the UK.

Responsibilities

You will be supporting the delivery of a variety of projects as part of a major capital investment programme.
Day to day you will have responsibility for the technical delivery of the project team, developing and drawing on the wider technical network to maximise innovation.
You will provide technical expertise to ensure that projects are delivered to cost, schedule, technical and quality standards to meet both client and company expectation, whilst also taking responsibility for the management & mentoring of engineers within the team.
You will work within professional and collaborative teams all with the same aim of delivering world class solutions for clients and the they serve.Skills/experience/qualifications

To be considered for this opportunity you must be degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant subject with experience within the water industry.
You will ideally be an Incorporated or Chartered member of a relevant engineering institution e.g. ICE, CIWEM.
Ideally, you'll have previous consultancy experience and experience of leading and developing civil engineers and managing other technical professionals to achieve holistic technical outcomes.
You'll embody our clients' values and ethos of client focus and service excellence.
Our client is seeking civil engineers across all areas of water and wastewater infrastructure / networks and treatment. Due to the nature of upcoming projects, ideally, you will also have experience in one or more of these technical areas: Sustainable Urban Drainage and Surface Water Management, Trunk Mains and Large Diameter Pipeline Design, Service Reservoirs and Clean Water TreatmentBenefits
