Job Details

The successful candidate will be expected to utilize the high bay structural testing laboratory. The candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, developing an externally funded research program, and providing service to the department, university, and profession. Teaching of related courses in the curriculum may also be required depending upon the candidate’s area of expertise and the needs of the department. Participation in the senior design course is expected.

Minimum Qualifications:  BS in an engineering field; Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field by the start date of employment; ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license within five years; potential for interdisciplinary research activities; potential for excellence in teaching and scholarly activities; excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:  B.S. in Civil Engineering or closely related field; Professional Engineer (PE) licensure; industry experience; experience with building information modeling (BIM) and/or large-scale structural testing; a track record of excellence in teaching; evidence of grantsmanship, research, and scholarly activities; evidence of professional and scholarly service.
