Senior Development Engineer - Energy Efficiency

Our clients portfolio includes energy efficiency, infrastructure upgrades, asset sustainability and renewable energy solutions across the globe. Due to continued growth they are now looking for a Senior Development Engineer that will be responsible for the development, construction and operation of renewable energy plants combined with tailored financial solutions.

  • The Senior Development Engineer will work closely with the development team assigned to each bid and be responsible for specific duties as follows:
  • Bid Development: Identify Energy Conservation Measures (ECM) at potential customer sites
  • Carry out energy audits and surveys
  • Prepare preliminary capital cost and energy savings models for each ECM
  • Attend regular client project meetings
  • Prepare the technical write up for inclusion in bid submission
  • Present technical solutions at bid meetings

High Level Appraisals:
  • Assessment of existing system configuration and operation at client sites.
  • Compilation and analysis of data
  • Conceptual design of energy related projects
  • Preliminary constructability assessment and project risk assessment
  • Prepare capital and operating cost budgets
  • Detailed energy savings calculations
  • Preparation of final report and presentation
  • Investment Grade Audits Further definition of solutions from High Level Appraisal stage including on-site assessments as necessary
  • Constructability assessment
  • Project risk assessment
  • Finalise solution selection
  • Prepare full equipment list with performance/sizing/selection for key energy equipment, all major pipework lines, pumps (including pressure capabilities), heat exchangers including definition of control philosophy
  • Prepare P & ID, layout and scheme drawings
  • Produce an outline work package for contractor to provide pricing and assess accordingly Develop savings calculations and pricing to +/- 10% for project capital approval

  • Engineering degree preferably in chemical, mechanical or electrical
  • Achieved or working towards chartered engineer status
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience of energy related or field engineer work for an Energy Services Business
  • Experience working on UK Public Sector Tender Frameworks including ReFiT, Essentia, CEF, SNDEE advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project scheduling tools Personal Attributes.

The job requires the willingness to travel across UK and Europe, while based in Central London
