Our client is an independent utilities infrastructure business and is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their Glasgow based design team on a hybrid basis.
Our client designs, builds and maintains the UK's utilities infrastructure to help transform local communities for the better. They work in partnership with the likes of Severn Trent, United Utilities, Yorkshire Water, Scottish Water, Northern Powergrid and Scottish Power.
Our client works across both water infrastructure and non-infrastructure. They provide high specification design work to clients all over the UK, driving value through optimised asset solutions.
They are looking for exceptional candidates to help drive the growth of their consultancy business within the utilities market. You will have the opportunity to work on challenging and exciting projects designing excellent services and solutions for a wide client base.
This is a full-time permanent vacancy and will be of hybrid nature, working from home and also at Glasgow Offices. Experience in wastewater non infrastructure would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
Work to project controls, guidelines and procedures
Undertake the Lead Design role supporting a multi-disciplined (MEICA)/CAD) team in undertaking a wide range of design related tasks.
Co-ordinate design work with both internal groups potentially in other offices as well as external consultants/contractors and the Client
Supporting the adherence of BIM Procedures on relevant projects including the use of Client based Contract administration systems.
Preparation and production of project documentation, and reports
Skills/experience/qualifications
BEng in Engineering, or relevant discipline (or a similar approved qualification)
Computer literate and conversant with associated 3rd party packages (eg ProjectWise, ASite) and MS Office suite
Basic project management understanding in a multi-disciplinary project environment.
Extensive and demonstrable experience in leading civil designs and overall solution development
Ability to lead a multi-disciplined team.
Experience of liaising with the Client on both technical and commercial matters
Support senior management in the production of and reviewing monthly reports and also in the preparation of bidding for new works.
