We are currently working with a leading provider of construction consulting services with a comprehensive background in Structural and Civil Engineering. They are actively on the lookout for a Senior Structural Engineer with a minimum of five years of experience to join their office in Welwyn Garden City. The purpose of this role is to assist with ongoing expansion and a growing workload
The company has a track record of working across numerous sectors, including retail, data centres, logistics, residential, logistics and energy. Their areas of expertise include structural and civil engineering, feasibility studies, building information modelling (BIM), engineering master planning, flood management, infrastructure design, pre-development engineering and transportation & highways.
There is currently a real emphasis on data centre and distribution centre projects, many of which have an international dimension with the opportunity for working trips abroad being a genuine reality on offer. Clients include major technology and distribution companies that have an international reputation.
You will be adept in liaising professionally with external clients and agencies. Thorough knowledge of design to British Standards and EuroCodes, and of Health & Safety / CDM. Experience of large complex steel structures and expertise in use of Tekla Structural Designer is desirable.
The successful candidate will have a BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering and be either chartered or working towards chartership (MIStructE or MICE). Significant previous experience of managing whole design processes, from concept to construction will be advantageous, as well as previous experience in day-to-day running of a variety of projects.
