Experience required
Essential:
Proven experience in structural engineering, particularly in the design and analysis of complex structures.
Proficiency in structural analysis software and tools for design and assessment.
Strong understanding and application of relevant British standards and codes of practice for structural design.
Ability to lead and manage structural design packages, ensuring compliance with project requirements and standards.
Familiarity with construction materials and their properties, particularly those suitable for marine and industrial environments.
Knowledge of structural integrity principles and techniques for assessing and ensuring the safety and reliability of structures.
Degree in civil or structural engineering from a recognised institution.
Chartered Membership of a relevant engineering institution.
Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
Understanding of ACI (American Concrete Institute) codes and their application in structural design.
Desirable:
Prior experience working in a defence or military context, with an understanding of the specific requirements and constraints of such projects.
Familiarity with the design and analysis of reinforced concrete structures in accordance with ACI codes.
Experience in finite element analysis (FEA) and other advanced structural analysis techniques.
Experience with project management methodologies and tools, including scheduling and budgeting.
Continuous professional development in line with industry advancements and emerging technologies in structural engineering.
