We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our flourishing in-house Engineering and Delivery team focusing on clean water schemes throughout our region.

This is a real opportunity to not only further challenge and expand your design and build experience on clean water schemes but to also build up a dynamic team of engineers to provide a safe and clean water service to our customers.
What you'll do
Working within this technical position, your role will be to primarily take ownership of all technical elements of the design activities being undertaken by the multi-disciplinary Project Delivery team.

You will:
  • take responsibility for design throughout the outline design, detailed design and construction support stages
  • act as a mentor to the more junior members of the team and instil a proactive culture within the team to support cost-effective delivery and personal development
  • support the Project Manager with the preparation and agreement of fee proposals, programmes and the general management of resources to ensure the Design team delivers in line with the agreed financial approvals and programme
  • ensure that the proposed design solutions are sustainable and can be delivered safely and cost-effectively to provide the company with the right solution for the best value, especially on a whole life cost basis
  • review, audit and approve all technical reports, appraisals, designs and drawings to ensure they comply with our health and safety and technical standards, while also meeting legal and environmental obligations
  • arrange and chair workshops and regular design meetings to review design proposals, progress and to consider issues such as buildability, commissioning, HAZOPs, Control Philosophy and URS reviews.
What you'll need
As a Senior Engineer in clean water treatment design, you will either have a background in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with an understanding of chemistry processes associated with clean water treatment.

You will have experience in the following:
  • clean water treatment, such as water production centres
  • design, in particular conducting feasibility studies, providing options and outline design
  • working on schemes from start to completion
  • working on schemes ranging from £3m to £7m in value.
