Job Details

This is a full-time on-site role located in our Sarasota, FL office for a CIVIL or ENVIRONMENTAL Engineer. The candidate will be responsible for providing expertise in civil/environmental infrastructure relating to potable water, wastewater, reclaimed water, stormwater, groundwater, and OneWater projects. The candidate will work together with our team to analysis and design complex systems, and to provide innovative and sustainable engineering solutions for our clients. The firm's projects are considered "leading" edge such as for "OneWater", integrated water resource management, wastewater / potable water / reclaimed water / stormwater / indirect potable reuse, "Digitally SMART Utility", infiltration and inflow (I&I), piloting, asset management / CMOM / management consulting, collaborative project delivery (aka design build), and Low Impact Development (LIDs) sustainable designs for public and private clients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering calculations and AutoCAD 3D design, assessments, studies, master plans, engineering and economic models, construction drawings, technical specifications, permit applications and reports.
  • Serve as Lead Project Engineer or Task Manager on small to medium scale projects or lead staff engineer on complex or larger size projects.
  • Assist in developing innovative engineering tools for client’s use
  • Field support on our field studies, data collection and analytics, and pilot projects
  • Engineering services during construction including site observation.
  • Business development/marketing assistance
  • Aid with preparing project schedules and budgets.
  • Prepare opinion of probable costs including life cycle costing and business case evaluations
  • Research new equipment technologies, regulations, approaches, and other data needed to support innovative engineering and business consulting solutions.
  • Ability to occasionally travel (day trips), as needed, in SW Florida to West Central Florida for support on site visits, running and operating pilots and monitoring equipment.
  • Coordinate with clients, team members, subconsultants, and vendors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering (only these two eng. disciplines)
  • 2+ years experience in civil/environmental design/engineering
  • Experience in engineering with AutoCAD and GIS
  • Some level of field experience (investigations, data collection, or construction)
  • Licensed Engineer in Training (EIT) and ability to obtain PE within 24 months.
