Responsibilities

Technical ownership of the production of drawings, calculations, reports and design documents produced by self, or coordinating and reviewing work produced by others
Independently using appropriate design/analysis software including CAD
Analyse technical problems, assess the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures and devise new approaches and alternative solutions
Solving engineering problems
Familiarity with design guides and standards
Knowledge of the designer's responsibilities under CDM
Attending site visits to review project constraints and the construction process
Developing fee proposals and project cost estimates
Maintaining and developing relationships with existing and prospective clients
