Civil Infrastructure Design Engineer
London
Salary : £38,000 - £45,000 : dependant on experience
This multi-disciplined engineering consultancy are looking for a mid-level civil engineer to join their infrastructure team which consists of 4 people and comprises of : 1 engineering graduate and assistant , 1x Senior/Principal Engineer and is led by an Associate Director.
This consultancies client base is predominantly large residential developers, with some industrial and commercial development, and their typical projects range from around 50 units up to several thousand dwellings. They deliver projects from initial feasibility stage, through planning and detail design and to construction stage. The team specialises in drainage, highways and development infrastructure.
Benefits:
- Hybrid working (3 days in office , 2 days from home)
- Reviewed salary in July annually.
- Basic working week of 37.5 hours (flexible start/finish times).
- Paid overtime for hours in excess of 37.5 per week or time off in lieu.
- Bonuses - They are an employee owned business through an Employee Ownership Trust, the EOT can pay a limited tax-free bonus after 12 months continual service (the EOT element of bonuses are based purely on length of service and salary).
- Auto enrolment (after successful completion of 3 months' probation) into a Group Personal Pension scheme with Scottish Widows into which the company pays 5% of all earnings (basic + overtime + bonuses) and employees must pay at least 3% gross.

Requirements:
- A sound technical ability and understanding of relevant documents such as SSG, Building Regulations, DMRB and Ciria C753.
- Ability to use MicroDrainage and AutoCAD at an advanced level is essential, and an understanding of Civils 3d would be beneficial.
- Experience in pre-planning and planning stage projects as well as a good understanding of detail design and technical approval (S104, S38, S278, etc) is required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day to day project management and lead the design of multiple schemes across a range of clients.
- Guide and support for junior members of the team, delegate and check work, ensuring deadlines are met and high-quality drawings and designs are delivered.
- Developing Concept and Detailed Drainage Strategies.
- Developing Levels Strategies and Earthwork Appraisals.
- Producing Planning Documents such as Flood Risk Assessments/Drainage Technical Notes and Utilities Statements.
- Securing technical approval for S104, S38, S278 etc
