The Role
Our London office seeks a Structural Engineer to join a dynamic building engineering team, offering diverse project opportunities encompassing international high-rise structures, adaptive re-use schemes, detailed design tasks, and unique architectural projects, catering to major UK developers and contractors.
Collaborating closely with the Structures Lead, you'll contribute to project delivery, assist in team management and development, and coordinate with various disciplines within our comprehensive service portfolio, including civil, façades, infrastructure, bridge engineering, and geotechnical consultancy.
The role promises a varied workload across different sectors and project phases, requiring involvement in concept design, detailed design, and construction stages, with opportunities for international assignments beyond the UK-centric projects.

Responsibilities:
Design delivery: prepare calculations, drawings and other documentation.
Collaborate with others in the design team
Delivering work packages for multiple small projects within budget and to schedule.
Communicating with clients, review and suggest scope for elements of work, assist in the preparation of proposals and provide input to project finances.
Experience:
At least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally within an engineering consultancy or the construction industry
Qualified to BEng level or above
Strong first principles knowledge and understanding in structural engineering.
Desire to learn new design skills and sharpen existing design skill sets
Relevant design and delivery experience with reinforced concrete, post-tension concrete, structural steel, timber and masonry structures
Excellent time management and the ability prioritise execution of work
High attention to detail
Be familiar with embodied carbon as a design parameter and strive for solutions which are effective from a sustainability perspective
Experience in the assessment and re-use of existing structures (concrete, steel, ideally masonry and timber)
Familiar with analysis and design software (E.g. Etabs, Strand7, Spacegass, RAPT, RAM Concept, SAFE, Mathcad, or Tedds).
Good knowledge of current UK/European building standards, analysis and codes of practice
Good understanding of BIM project requirements. Able to communicate and manage drafters to deliver compliant design
