Join a dynamic CS&A team within a leading supplier to the nuclear industry. With extensive expertise, we offer unparalleled experience across all stages of the nuclear life cycle, from design and construction to decommissioning and waste management.
Role Overview: Take a leading role in our design team, specializing in traditional, bespoke, and innovative designs of reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry structures for nuclear projects. You'll play a key part in projects ranging from nuclear decommissioning to new builds, supporting operating sites and dockyards. Projects include designing structures for mechanical handling equipment, process and electrical systems, and standalone civil/structural tasks. Projects are primarily UK-based with some international involvement, covering various loading scenarios including seismic design. You'll provide technical leadership and may act as Technical Lead on specific projects.
Responsibilities:
* Deliver nuclear design work, inspections, and construction site support for public and private sector clients in the UK and overseas.
* Conduct concept and feasibility studies for complex multidisciplinary design projects.
* Oversee and lead analysis and design using engineering software and hand calculations.
* Prepare bid documentation, task estimates, and technical reports.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-profile projects.
* Provide technical support and mentorship to team members.
* Ensure a positive attitude towards safety in design and office environments.
* Manage project delivery effectively.
Qualification Requirements:
* Degree qualified in Civil/Structural Engineering (BEng or MEng).
* Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with membership of ICE or IStructE.
Experience Required:
* Significant experience in designing structures in reinforced concrete and steelwork.
* Previous experience in the nuclear industry and seismic loading design is advantageous.
* Familiarity with latest design codes, standards, legal, and regulatory requirements.
