The Opportunity
This role has been deemed inside of IR35.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to have the chance of joining a well-established UK engineering business located in Clyde as an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer. As the Civil/Structural Engineer you will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team where the primary purpose of the role is to directly support a major defence project.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Authoring, development, assessment, maintenance and management of the Infrastructure Design Substantiation documents.
Authoring, development, assessment, maintenance and management of design changes/concessions.
Presentation of the clients substantiations, to ‘Due Process' nuclear safety committees.
Production and development of Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing (EIMT) Schedule, operating procedures and results to satisfy design requirements and safety case through life.
Producing/assessing Periodic Review of Safety reports.
Providing advice and direction to internal and external stakeholders.
Production of Independent Technical Review (ITA)/Independent Peer Review (IPR).
Use a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology.
Apply appropriate theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate, maintain, decommission and re-cycle engineering processes, systems, services and products in a nuclear/high risk environment.
Producing robust technical justification to allow for relevant civil/structural design modifications to be authorised within a high hazard industry.You will have the following qualifications & experience
Proven experience in the design assessment of steelwork structures to withstand dynamic loads including;
Earthquake motions
Blast
Wind
Rain
Snow loading
Experience working on steelwork marine structures and jetties would be ideal.
Experience of producing robust technical justification to allow for relevant structural design modifications to be authorised within a high hazard industry.
Apply appropriate theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate, maintain, decommission and re-cycle engineering processes, systems, services and products in a nuclear/high risk environment.
Use a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology.
Structural Engineering degree.
Incorporated engineer (or equivalent experience).
All candidates must be willing and able to attain the required level of security clearance needed for the assignment.It's great if you also have the following
Experience working in a nuclear environment.
Familiarity with safety case development techniques e.g. HAZID/HAZOP studies.
Chartered engineer (or equivalent experience).Get in touch now
