Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of a test lead, a test rig civil engineer will be sent in to support the civil demonstrator test programme.


  • They will back the specification of work packages. This could comprise requirements definition, concept design, analysis, testing specification, etc., depending on the kind of test.
  • They will be a smart customer and use their knowledge of civil engineering to make sure certain work packages are delivered successfully.
  • During governance reviews, they will offer technical support to stakeholders in order to showcase the design/test's maturity.
  • They will collaborate with the supply chain to guarantee that important information is recorded and shared.
  • Expertise in civil engineering, preferably with regard to concrete and pre-cast concrete.
  • Expertise carrying out test programmes to guarantee they produce the necessary validation or verification data, including, when appropriate, through scaled tests or sub-element testing.
  • Proficiency in obtaining data, comprehending it, and articulating it in a suitable and captivating manner, including official correspondence like gate evaluations to the relevant parties.
  • The capacity to foresee risks or problems early on and take proactive measures to address them with little oversight.
  • The capacity to lead by example and teach others strong, positive safety habits, such as politely challenging others and taking the lead in creating a strong safety culture.


Required Skills (Technical Competency):

  • - Significant experience in the field of civil engineering or a relevant technical degree level.
  • - Membership in a professional body at the CEng level or above, or demonstrable progress towards achieving this rank.
