SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER (Design)
Our client based in Warrington require a Senior Structural Engineer with extensive experience in structural design to join a growing dynamic business. The role is technical and operational lead for the regional design team. Reporting to the Associate Director, this role will be instrumental in the growth of the company and supporting the growth of the design team. The successful candidate will be passionate about digital technology and the benefits it brings to our profession. Senior Structural Engineer duties:
Operational and technical lead for the design team, including design approvals, coaching and mentoring
Preparing structural design calculations across a range of market sectors including residential, educational, commercial, rail infrastructure and industrial.
Preparing design solutions in respect of building insurance claims, including fire, storm, explosion, flooding and subsidence
Attending site inspections and site meetings
Delivering small to medium design projects
Ensuring commercial success of projects, driving utilisation and profitability
Delivering projects ranging from small residential properties through to large commercial projects
Contributing to business development to widen design team client base
Reporting to the national Design team Associate Director and providing progress reports
Assisting with business development to drive growth of the team including the development of the design team
Developing new ideas to help shape the future of the business
Senior Structural Engineer education/knowledge:
Good degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering (essential)
Several years post graduate design experience (essential)
Proficiency in IT systems (essential)
A general understanding of structures and materials including steel, masonry, concrete and timber (essential)
A general understanding of sustainability and environmental impact of building structures. A working knowledge of embodied carbon calculations
A good knowledge of health & safety in respect of construction activities
MICE or MIStructE chartered status (desirable but not essential)
Senior Structural Engineer Key Attributes/Skills:
Excellent communication skills, ensuring great customer service
Good organisational skills
Excellent work ethic, willing to go above and beyond to support the company growth
Passionate about new technologies, progressive change and continuous improvement
Car owner and UK driving licence, able to travel to site
SYSTEMS CAPABILITY:
All aspects of Microsoft Office
Industry standard software including TEDDS and STAAD (desirable)
Proficient in the use of AutoCad (essential) and Revit (desirable)

37.5 hours per day with flexible hybrid / remote working
Salary £45-£50K (DOE)
