About the Role:

The Structural Analysis Engineer will work on a range of activities from technical studies to small spacecraft systems and subsystems, supporting projects for various institutional, academic, and commercial customers. This role requires collaboration with customers, suppliers, leadership teams, engineers, and project managers to ensure high-performing solutions for space missions.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the structural integrity of spacecraft under your direct supervision.

Correctly interpret structural requirements from launch authorities and standards agencies.

Prepare Finite Element Models (FEMs) and perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

Conduct structural optimization activities.

Participate in peer review meetings and R&D activities.

Support mechanical test campaigns.

Essential Skills:

Familiarity with interpreting requirements in launch vehicle user manuals, particularly inertial loading, vibration theory, shock, and acoustics.

Familiarity with relevant engineering technical standards, especially ECSS and NASA.

Strong understanding of methods for spacecraft level mechanical analysis and testing.

Good understanding of the impact of design decisions at the spacecraft and mission level.

Strong understanding of structural mechanics and vibration theory.

Understanding of fastener mechanics and failure modes.

Appreciation of novel structural materials, such as composites, and knowledge of appropriate analysis and testing methods.

Appreciation of micro-vibration.

Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Confident working in project delivery and bid teams.

Ability to work closely with and interpret the outputs of analysis engineers (FEA) to understand design capabilities.

Experience with a FEM package, preferably NASTRAN/FEMAP.
