Responsibilities:
• Candidate will be the primary point of contact for all construction work being performed and will be responsible for managing all in house personnel and construction subcontractors required to complete construction and post-traffic tests of pavement test items
     o Includes demolition, new construction, sensor installation, surveying and layout, quality control and quality assurance.
• Management and oversight of construction of new FAA pavement research facilities and maintenance of existing facilities
• Development of construction plans and specifications, constructability reviews, and solicitation of construction contractors
• Knowledge of Government contracting; development of statements of work and cost estimates; proposal reviews, etc.
• Research project lead for pavement related topics as assigned
     o Writing statements of work for contract support of FAA research
     o Managing team of engineers and technical personnel in the conduct of research
     o Developing budgets and estimates
     o Review of reports and technical documents
• Identification of recycled or reduced embodied carbon pavement materials for potential integration into pavement research projects
• Participate in the development of various research topics for FAA airport pavement research

 Publication and presentation of FAA research / Conduct workshops on FAA software and FAA guidance base on our research
• Coordination with university and industry partners and stakeholders on FAA research
• Travel both domestic and international – less than 25% of time annually


SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
Experience performing pavement design and analysis.
Experience with pavement management systems.
Experience with pavement research programs.
Experience in the field of highway or airport pavements.

Ideal Candidate qualifications:
•M.S. in Civil Engineering – focusing on construction management and pavement materials (concrete, asphalt, aggregates

)•Professional Engineer registration in at least one U.S. State

Prior experience:
•  B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with at least 8 years experience or M.S. with 5 yearsexperience (M.S. Preferred)
• Design or construction management of airport paving projects or heavy highway paving projects
         o MicroPaver or FAARFIELD use experience a plus
• Pavement Management System(s) experience e.g. PAVER, PAVEAIR a plus
• Materials selection/mix design for asphalt and/or concrete mixtures.
• Quality Control of paving projects
• Pavement materials research in the field and/or accelerated pavement research experience.
