The City of Klamath Falls is seeking an Assistant or Associate Engineer (DOQ) who will work under the direction of the City Engineer, who plays an integral role in the management and performance of top-level professional civil engineering work. The position provides administrative solutions to complex problems that arise in the design, review, and construction of City infrastructure and related development projects. 

Assistant Engineer requires Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college; and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in related construction and/or engineering plan review and associated field inspection sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.  Must have passed the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE).

Associate Engineer requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college; and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in progressively responsible design, constructions management, inspection, plan check and complex development and land use review experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.  A Masters’ degree may substitute for some experience.  Professional Civil Engineering License in the State of Oregon, or Professional Civil Engineer registration in a reciprocal state with the ability to obtain Oregon registration within six (6) months of hire date.  Professional license must be presented for verification. 

All positions require a valid Oregon Driver’s License. New employees establishing resident status in the State of Oregon must obtain an Oregon driver’s license within 30 days.
