Are you an experienced Structural Engineer? Are you a interested in Flood or Coastal Engineering?
To meet our clients growing business needs and future development aspirations, we are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer, ideally with experience in Flood or Coastal Engineering. The successful applicant will be based in their Head office in Leeds and will lead technical design work on a range of civil and structural engineering projects within the flood defence, rail and built environment sector.
We are looking for candidates with sound technical knowledge and ability to manage design projects and work pro-actively with the construction team on an exciting design and build joint venture.
You will report to one of their Technical Directors and will contribute to the delivery of a range of engineering and environmental improvement projects, including permanent detailed design and build schemes and temporary works. You will be responsible for mentoring and supervising junior staff and dependant on experience, could develop into line management duties. You should be familiar with software packages such as TEDDS and STRAP and may also have experience in FE analysis.
They are looking for a self-starter, capable of working without supervision to a high technical standard. Knowledge of relevant design codes and software packages is essential as you will be required to generate, check and review engineering calculations within a wide variety of projects. Excellent teamworking and communication skills are required, and you may have to work with staff outside of the core team based in Leeds.
For this role professional membership of a recognised professional institution such as the ICE or IStructE is preferred and a degree (or equivalent) in Civil and or Structural Engineering is essential. My client has an approved training scheme with the Institution of Civil Engineers and has personnel who can support your progress to Chartership. Candidates should have substantial and proven experience of UK consultancy work and/ or design and build experience.
