Wardell Armstrong has a great opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join our friendly and passionate team in the head office in Stoke. You will be involved in a variety of projects from feasibility through to detailed design and construction. Our projects are across many different sectors of development including residential, commercial, renewable energy, education, and waste sectors.

You will be part of a team undertaking drainage design, highways and road design, earthworks design and 3D modelling, site inspections/surveys, report writing, project management and construction supervision. You will be responsible for project managing your own schemes and assisting and advising more junior members of staff. You will be liaising with clients and the wider project teams on projects.

The successful candidate will be a talented and enthusiastic Senior/Principal Civil Engineer or an experienced Civil Engineer looking to take their career to the next stage. We are looking for the following skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline (minimum requirement);
  • Experience in the use of Civils 3D, PDS or Site 3D;
  • Experience in the use of AutoCAD;
  • Experience in the use of MicroDrainage, PD Causeway Flow or other drainage design software;
  • Working knowledge of design codes and standards;
  • Experienced in the production of infrastructure design packages and drawings, specifically highway and/or drainage design;
  • Confident working on their own or as part of a multidisciplinary team;
  • An excellent communicator who can collaborate with a variety of colleagues and is comfortable attending Client facing meeting;
  • Experience in the production of Technical Reports;
  • Someone who can analyse problems, create innovative solutions, and sound decisions in a competitive and commercial environment;
  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary and collaborative design team environments;
  • Keen attention to detail and the drive to keep learning;
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers.
