Infrasense is anticipating significant growth in the next 1-2 years, some of which we expect to evolve from additions to and enhancements of our current testing and analysis capabilities. We are seeking a project engineer to assist in the development and implementation of these capabilities, as well as to become a part of our testing and evaluation team. Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Use of analytic skills, working with data in spreadsheets and using Python and/or MATLAB to carry out analyses and look for patterns in data.
  • Design of field tests to evaluate the capability of newly developed test methods, conducting the tests, and evaluating of the data.
  • Overseeing technical aspects of a project within budget and schedule, including data collection, analysis, and generating high-quality deliverable results, including but not limited to site drawings, condition maps, reports and documentation.
  • Overseeing completeness and accuracy of project team's work, and supervision of junior staff to meet overall project objectives.
  • Drafting technical sections of project communications and reports.
  • Contributing development of technical procedures and methods.
  • Training junior team members with a positive can-do attitude.
  • Assisting in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
  • Assisting with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within discipline.
  • Willing to travel (10%-20%) typically ~1 week per month between May – October.
  • Performing all work in accordance with company and client Health & Safety protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline and 3-5 years of relevant experience, OR
  • PhD degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline and 2-3 years of experience.
  • Active driver's license
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple deadlines.
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required.
  • Passion for learning and a strong work ethic.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Experience with nondestructive testing/evaluation methods (e.g., ground penetrating radar, infrared thermography, falling weight deflectometer, seismic, acoustic, sonic/ultrasonic, etc.).
  • Experience with bridge inspection.
  • Experience with pavement management and design.
  • Experience with programming (MATLAB, Python).
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Experience with ArcGIS.
  • Experience with signal and image processing, and with GUI development.
  • Experience working with State DOT projects.
  • Experience presenting project findings to clients or at industry meetings/conferences.
