My client is a well-established, privately owned specialist Civil Engineering contractor that has undergone a successful growth period and become a leading player in the market. To continue this growth, they are looking to appoint a Planner to focus on preconstruction and infrastructure elements, working with and assisting the Construction teams with planning and programming.

To continue this growth, they are looking to appoint a Planner to focus on preconstruction and infrastructure elements, working with and assisting the Construction teams with planning and programming.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed project plans and schedules using project management software.
- Collaborate with estimators, contracts managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align projects objectives and plans.
- Analyse projects specifications, drawings, and contracts to accurately assess requirements and risks.
- Monitor project start and progress against the plan during the infrastructure phase, identifying deviations and recommending corrective actions as necessary.
- Manage and update project schedules throughout the preconstruction and Infrastructure phase.
- Conduct site visits as needed to ensure adherence to the timeline and technical specifications.
- Prepare progress reports and present them to management preconstruction and Infrastructure phase.
- Coordinate with construction and wider operations team to ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Implement best practices in planning and scheduling, including risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
- Assist in the resolution of any potential conflicts in schedule and logistics.
Essential Competence & Training:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Planning Manager/Engineer or similar role in the civil engineering sector.
- Strong proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6, ASTA Powerproject, or similar project management software.
- Experience planning and programming infrastructure works packages inc., roads and sewers.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with multiple teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.
- Experience in Lean Construction practices.
Desirable Competence & Training:
- Professional certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modelling).
