Role Overview:

Working directly for the Energy Manager, your overarching responsibility will be to assist with the development of a unique energy management tool to provide our clients with a range of services including: live performance monitoring with comparisons against Key Performance indicators, regular reporting, alarms and problem resolutions. This role may also entail the development of internal tools to further streamline our energy-as-a-service approach, feeding back into the design and construction stages of projects. In certain situations, the role will involve direct involvement in design work to further optimise existing systems.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Undertake analysis of data and provide outputs such as benchmarking, load profile review with contractual and financial impact.
  • Assist with the development of an Energy Management platform utilising skills including Object-Oriented Programming and database management.
  • Determine the potential savings, cost and simple payback for each measure using proprietary software, modelling tools and specialist information.
  • Undertake site surveys highlighting energy performance improvement opportunities through good engineering practices.
  • Contribute narrative on each of the measures including graphs, diagrams, and photographs for insertion into the project deliverable as required by the Energy Manager
  • Execute your role within the parameters set under the Dalkia Energy Project Management Framework including responsibility for allocated time, governance of data and associated analysis, internal senior management and client communications.
  • Actively participate in client meetings and presentations and communicate with key project stakeholders as required.
  • Assist the Senior Energy Manager to develop performance enhancing improvements from concept through to initial investment proposal through to the Measurement and Verification stage, interfacing with the Design Team to help develop a thorough investment stage proposal
  • Produce and automate M&V reports using proprietary energy management system (EMS) tools.

Knowledge, Skills, Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in one of the following or any related subject: Energy, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Physics and Sustainable Energy.
  • CEng (or working towards), Member of Energy Institute, preferably CIBSE LCEA or equivalent.
  • 0 - 4 years post grad experience
  • Knowledgeable in at least four and proficient in others with respect to energy and carbon performance: Energy & carbon management; Lighting; HVAC; Central Plant; Energy generation; infrastructure (e.g., district heat & HV); Renewables; Metering & monitoring; Building fabric; Strategy and change management.
