Two positions will be filled, one Engineer I or II, one Professional Engineer or Senior Professional Engineer.

Job Summary: This is professional engineering work reviewing environmental resource permits and compliance and enforcement projects.

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Engineer I – requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering.

 

 

 

Engineer II – requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering, and two years engineering experience directly related to the field in which the position is assigned.

 

 

 

Professional Engineer – requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering, and registration by the State of Florida as a Professional Engineer.

 

 

 

Senior Professional Engineer – requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in environmental, civil, hydraulic, agricultural or water resource engineering, registration by the State of Florida as a Professional Engineer, and one-year subsequent experience in work directly related to the field in which the position is assigned.

 

 

 

An advanced degree may substitute for a portion of the required experience.

 

 

 

 

 

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

 

Mostly office environment sitting at a desk and operating a personal computer to produce work products with some field visits as required.

 

 

 

Periodic field visits:

 

Applicant must have ability to endure outdoor environments in uncomfortable temperatures, inclement weather, and remote locations.

 

 

 

Licenses:

 

Valid State of Florida Driver’s License.

 

Professional Engineer and Senior Professional Engineer require State of Florida Professional Engineer License.

Starting Salary Range:

 

Engineer I - $58,344.00 - $72,924.80

 

Engineer II – $62,420.80 - $78,020.80

 

Professional Engineer - $73,528.00 - $95,596.80

 

Senior Professional Engineer - $78,686.40 - $102,276.30

 

Starting salary is based on qualifications and experience.

Count­ies entirely in the district are Brevard, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Indian River, Nassau, Putnam, Seminole, St. Johns and Volusia. Counties partially in the district are Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Lake, Marion, Okeechobee, Orange and Osceola. District staff work from service centers in Palatka, Jacksonville, Maitland and Palm Bay.
