Licensed Civil Engineer

• Johnson City, TN Bristol, TN Radford, VA Wise, VA Princeton, WV

The ideal candidates will have a civil engineering education/background with experience in LAND DEVELOPMENT OR WATER/WASTEWATER, 7-10 years of experience in the industry, and their PE license.  We are seeking self-motivated, self-starters to join our staff in providing excellent solutions for our clients and communities. Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field Professional Engineer License (PE) in Virginia/Tennessee/West Virginia Strong technical skills in civil engineering Strong verbal communication and writing skills Proficiency in MS Word and Excel Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the design of water distribution or sewerage collection systems. Experience in the design of water/wastewater treatment plants. Familiarity and demonstrated ability to design according to local stormwater management regulations Strong technical skills in the design of land development Proficiency in Bentley PondPack, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, and StormCAD Strong project management skills Ability to work well in a team and field younger engineer’s questions when needed

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in the preparation of engineering project proposals. Review municipal zoning codes, development ordinances, and applicable local, state and federal agency regulations to determine land development requirements. Perform site visits, research, and due diligence on projects to collect background information to start a new project. May attend kick-off and design review meetings and interact with clients. Develop conceptual site layouts based on client’s objectives and results of due diligence work. Perform grading design and earthwork analyses to ensure proper drainage and value engineering is achieved by providing a balanced site. Erosion and sediment control design including preparation of narratives. Design of stormwater management systems including stormwater conveyance systems, stormwater storage systems and water quality best management practices. Perform calculations to demonstrate designs meet all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Design utility systems including sanitary sewer, water utility distribution systems, water and sewer pump stations, etc. Prepare technical specifications. Prepare construction cost estimates based upon site plan drawings. QA/QC of own designs and designs completed by others. Recognize when technical problems are developing and initiate appropriate corrective actions. Managing all aspects of submittals and deliverables. Monitor own work and that of project team to ensure budgets and schedules are being met. Coordinate project assignments with other engineers, architects, surveyors, and technicians within the company. As level of experience progresses, train less experienced team members in daily routine activities including technical design, processing, and company procedures.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $87,000. Negotiable with experience level.
