We have an exciting new opportunity for a Principal Civil & Structural Engineer for BEP to be based at Sellafield site.

Note: A Sellafield pass is required for site working, in the interim (between 4-8 weeks from application) working location would be the Warrington office/home by mutual agreement.

About the Role:
The Principal Civil & Structural Engineer will be reporting to the Area Lead Engineer and the Engineering Manager on a full time basis.

Key responsibilities:
Lead and manage other engineers and their workload to budget and programme as required.
Provide engineering support to construction and commissioning in accordance with scheduled activities.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with the permanent works design team in Warrington on site construction team and the client's intelligent customer team to achieve early engagement in the resolution of technical issues as they arise.
Respond to technical queries, product permits, concessions and non-conformances in a timely manner arising from construction activities.
Daily interfacing on the construction site with construction personnel, providing direct intervention as necessary, to ensure the engineering design intent is met as per the drawings and specifications.
Produce and check structural calculations (steelwork, concrete and masonry), technical reports and details as necessary for site modifications with approval of the permanent works team.
Review contractor method statements, inspection plans etc.
Participate in and attend walk downs, meetings and reviews as required.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:
Degree qualified, preferably Chartered Engineer (MIStructE or MICE)
Nuclear industry experience preferred but not essential.
A pro-active, self-starter with good communication, analytical and team working skills.
Understanding of CDM Regulations and duties as a Designer.
