Design Engineer Structural Steel

Our client, Compass Engineering, is an established, family owned design and build steelwork contractor specialising in distribution warehousing and low rise structures. Based in their head office in Barnsley they design, manufacture and erect structural steel solutions for installation throughout the UK.

An opportunity has arisen for a Design Engineer to join the team. As a key player in the Company's on-going development plans you will be responsible for producing steelwork designs and calculations using the latest technology/design software underpinned with traditional design methodology.

Your technical knowledge would preferably be in low rise structures with at least 5 years relevant experience. As part of our team you will be required to produce economical structural steel solutions from architect's drawings, with compliance to industry and statutory standards, working closely with internal and external design team members. Experience in value/cost engineering in both design and fabrication is important in addition to the ability share experiences and develop new ideas with others.
