Principal Civil Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Designing highway schemes (S38/S278) both preliminary and detailed
Creating strategic and detailed designs for drainage (S104/S98)
Designing foul pumping stations, SUDS, flow control structures, and balancing facilities
Handling residential and commercial external works design, including earthworks assessments
Collaborating with Transport/Highways Planners, Flood Risk and Drainage specialists, and other professionals
Delivering projects efficiently and cost-effectively, often against challenging timescales
Managing and mentoring junior engineers and technical staff
Liaising with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success

Job Requirements:

Extensive experience in civil engineering, particularly in infrastructure design
Strong understanding of highway and drainage design principles and relevant standards
Proficiency in using civil engineering design software
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Relevant civil engineering degree or equivalent qualification
Membership in relevant professional bodies is advantageous
