We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer for our client, for a full-time permanent role based in either Adlington or Sunderland. This role offers an attractive salary and benefits package working for an engineering and projects delivery business specialising in design, installation, project management and consultancy.
You will be developing and producing design solutions and documentation in compliance with project requirements and industry standards. Strong communication, teamwork, customer focus, adaptability, commitment to self-improvement, and efficient task delivery are essential for success.
Key responsibilities:
Producing structural steelwork designs and analysis for process equipment and plant
Ensuring designs comply with project scope, schedule, and budget
Supporting proposals and bids with concept designs and engineering estimations
Assisting with the production of scope of works and defining deliverables
Coordinating and reviewing third-party design inputs
Providing foundation loads and connection designs
Producing reports and attending progress meetings
Developing drawings from notes, sketches, and design concepts
Liaising with internal and external designers to ensure best practices
Documenting updates to designs according to change procedures
Ensuring all work conforms to the latest industry standards (BS ISO)
Providing client-facing support
Essential qualifications:
Degree in structural engineering or equivalent
Experience designing structures for materials handling/processing equipment
Proficiency in licensed design software such as Tekla Designer and S-Frame
Understanding of CE/UKCA regulations and design risk assessments
Comprehensive understanding of design/drawing standards
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly medium to heavy fabrication
Experience in value engineering and continuous improvement
Competency in Microsoft Office
