What You Will Be Doing
The Civil Engineer monitors, reviews, manages and coordinates engineering activities in the Public Works Department related to primarily managing capital improvement projects, engineering studies, and other assigned duties and projects. This is accomplished by meeting and/or exceeding deadlines; staying within allocated budget, tracking expenditures and understanding funding needs; ensures fiscal responsible and consistent designs that meet adopted design standards and ordinances; effectively communicate a project status, outstanding items, and critical items; a great understanding and technical competency of completing a project from conceptual to construction completion; Other duties include performing engineering duties in the design, construction, and operation of projects; evaluating, reviewing and preparing plans and specifications; and performing a variety of tasks relative to the Public Works Department.

What You Bring To Us
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation/Traffic Engineering, or other engineering discipline from an ABET accredited college or university.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid Texas Driver's License.
- Possession of Certification as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
