We here at Siamo Recruitment are working with a thriving and passionate energy waste firm in TA6 and are currently seeking an Environmental Operations Engineer to join the team, this is a permanent role.
You will thrive in communicating across numerous teams, working harmoniously with the Maintenance and Operations teams.

Duties:
You will be carrying out general operational and maintenance duties across the Plant to facilitate a safe and efficient operation.
You will also be required to operate of the plant from a computer-based central control room, standing in for the Senior Shift Operator as and when necessary.
Working days & nights you will be required to work rotating shift patterns that include weekends and public holidays. You may also be asked to provide shift cover as required to ensure a continuous operation.
You will report directly to the Senior Shift Operator and also cover the role of Operations and Maintenance Assistance when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner and in line with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
Undertake training and develop competence with regards to site rules
Perform routine plant tests and inspections as required, collecting, recording, and collaborating data.
Report all non-conformances and raise and resolve issues on site to ensure reliable operation of the plant.
Maintain and support an effective safety and housekeeping programme, including timely communication of all initiatives.
Be able to assist/implement emergency procedures and instructions calmly and effectively in dynamic situations.
Operate the main boiler, turbine and FGT plant from a computer based central control room in accordance with design criteria, facility consents and responding to alarms, standing in for the Senior Shift Operator as and when necessary.
Analyse process performance and collaborate data whilst logging all operational activity as required.
Monitor stocks of consumables and residues, ensuring correct system operation and safeguarding operational continuity.
Undertake continuing personal development to enhance knowledge & skills relevant to the role.
Receive and respond to telephone calls in a courteous and concise manner.
Carry out other reasonable tasks and duties as requested by management.
Execute comprehensive shift handovers at the beginning and end of each shift.
Ensure plant cleaning schedules are fulfilled to a satisfactory standard.
Effectively react to planned and unplanned (i.e., emergency) repairs, blockages, and changes in the plant central systems.
Carry out front line and planned maintenance.
Complete routine plant checks as required.
Essential Characteristics:
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible.
Ability to work shifts whilst remaining focused and attentive to operational needs.
Highly motivated and driven.
Ability to work well within a team.
Self-discipline/ability to work independently.
Computer literate
Experience for the role:
Operational experience in the power generation sector. This can include Energy from Waste, CCGT, Oil, Coal or Biomass or time served maintenance discipline.
Exposure to working in demanding and dynamic environments, with a proven ability to work logically and remain calm.
Knowledge of all relevant facility consents, H&S legislation, safe working environments and safety rules.
