Job Description:
As the Civil Engineering Team Leader (Principal Engineer) in our Engineering business, you will play a critical role in leading our civil engineering projects and manage a dedicated team of highly skilled civil and structural engineers. You will champion excellence within the discipline, offering guidance and support to foster team development while aligning with InoRail's long-term strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage a team of skilled Civil Engineers, providing guidance and development support.
· Act as Contractor Responsible Engineer (CRE) across a range of engineering projects across all stages of design.
· Lead and coordinate civil engineering projects from inception to completion.
· Foster a collaborative and positive team culture.
· Support junior engineers with professional development.
· Oversee project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
· Support the development of proposals.
· Understand design procedures, change control, checking and review requirements, ensuring compliance with CDM design risk assessments, HSE and Quality procedures.
· Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and ensure client satisfaction.
· Build relationships with our clients and highlight opportunities relevant to Civil Engineering.
· Keep abreast of industry trends and innovations to drive continuous improvement.
· Be part of the Senior Leadership team, contributing to the long-term development of the InoRail business
Required Experience:
· Demonstratable experience in a senior Civil Engineering role, acting as CRE
· Ideally Chartered (CEng/IEng) with the Institution of Civil Engineers or similar
· Experience in team leadership, or an aspiration to develop in line management (it is not necessary to have previous experience of line management, but a desire to support development of staff).
· Proven track record in Civil Engineering and Project Management.
· Strong leadership and team management skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
· Have the ability to work successfully with clients.
· Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
· Demonstrate the ability to identify and input to activities in support of the wider business objectives that may draw upon skills in addition to those outlined above.
