£60,000 - £65,000 + Package

A leading UK housebuilder is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join their team, based in Staffordshire. This role offers the opportunity to lead and manage civil engineering aspects across a range of residential development sites throughout the West Midlands, playing a crucial part in the successful delivery of high-quality housing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all civil engineering elements of residential projects, from initial site assessment through to completion.
  • Oversee the design, planning, and implementation of infrastructure works, including roads, drainage, and utilities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Manage and coordinate external consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Conduct technical reviews, provide engineering solutions, and address any site-specific challenges that arise during the construction process.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, technical specifications, and contribute to the preparation of planning applications and other statutory submissions.
  • Conduct regular site visits across the West Midlands to monitor progress, assess work quality, and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Work closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery and successful resolution of any engineering issues.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, contributing to their professional development within the company.


Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with significant experience in residential development and infrastructure projects.
  • Chartered status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or working towards it is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles, including drainage, roads, and utilities.
  • Proven experience in managing and delivering complex civil engineering projects, ideally within the residential sector.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical engineering solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience in managing teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in civil engineering software and design tools, as well as Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Thorough understanding of UK building regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental considerations related to civil engineering works.
  • Ability to travel to various sites across the West Midlands as required.
