Senior Structural Engineer
An opportunity has arisen to work on HS2, on a long-term contract basis for an established top consultancy. The position will be based in West London and is a rare opportunity to work for a consultancy in a mainly site based position.

An opportunity has arisen to work on HS2, on a long-term contract basis for an established top consultancy. The position will be based in West London and is a rare opportunity to work for a consultancy in a mainly site based position.
Role and Responsibilities
- You will be based on site working as a Designers Site Representative. The role will include:
- Liaise between the design team and the contractor.
- Take part in site support and progress meetings.
- Ability to supervise work being undertaken, to ensure it is being undertaken by others to the approved design and specification, and within agreed programme and budget constraints.
- Ability and confidence to raise immediately all safety and quality concerns with Contractor staff, stop works where necessary and escalate issues to Design Office and Client when required.
- Ability to record all work completed on site and resources/materials utilised - in order to allow future Contractor applications to be signed off as reflecting work undertaken on site.
Requirements
- Ideally Chartered (ICE or MIStructE).
- Prior experience of working on permanent works design for HS2 (preferably S1/S2).
- Must have prior experience of shaft and/or headhouse design.
- Excellent user of SAP2000.
- Must have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Ideally holding a Masters too.
- Ideally prior experience of working on a site based position as a Designer's Site Representative.
