Assistant Public Works Directors – Transportation & Business Services

Located in the heart of the Silicon Valley, the City of Mountain View (pop. 83,601) is regarded as one of the safest and best places to live and work in the Bay Area. The Assistant Public Works Director for Transportation & Business Services reports to the Public Works Director and, along with 40 staff, is responsible for transportation planning/management, bicycle and pedestrian mobility, waste reduction and recycling, fleet and facility services, property management and administrative services.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, diverse work environment. They will be adept at leading collaborative teams while simultaneously and effectively managing complex projects. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of increasingly responsible experience managing public works-related programs. A Master’s degree and/or transportation management experience is desirable.
