My client in London is currently in need of Associate/Associate Designate Structural Engineer due to expansion.
Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Associate / Associate Designate Structural Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for experienced engineers looking to step into a leadership position or for those already operating at this level but seeking greater opportunities for career growth and responsibility. Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and delivery of a wide range of structural engineering projects, ensuring high standards of design, client satisfaction, and successful project outcomes.
* Take responsibility for project management, including managing budgets, fee proposals, and invoicing.
* Oversee detailed design work across a range of materials, including reinforced concrete, steelwork, masonry, timber, and glass structures.
* Manage structural steelwork connection design and detailing, as well as temporary works design.
* Produce high-quality reports, letters, and technical documentation.
* Conduct site inspections, surveys, and assessments as required.
* Act as the primary client liaison, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring project objectives are met.
* Lead and mentor a small team of engineers, providing guidance and technical oversight.
* Participate in business development efforts, with the potential to win new work and contribute to the firm's growth.
Skills and Experience Required
* Chartered Status:
* Candidates should be Chartered Structural Engineers (CEng MICE or MIStructE). Senior Engineers preparing for their Chartered examination in the near future may also be considered, with the expectation of becoming Chartered soon after joining.
* Relevant Experience:
* At least six to seven years of relevant design experience in building structures, including reinforced concrete, steelwork, masonry, timber, and glass.
* Expertise in structural steelwork connection design and detailing.
* Experience with temporary works design.
* Proven track record in writing technical reports and letters.
* Strong understanding of structural engineering standards and regulations.
* Leadership and Client Management:
* Ability to lead projects, work directly with clients, and manage a small team of engineers.
* Experience in preparing fee proposals, managing budgets, and invoicing.
* Willingness to engage in business development, including the potential to win new work.
