Waldeck are an award-winning consultancy with over 29 years' experience. We work collaboratively with clients to deliver sustainable and innovative solutions across the built environment.
In 2018 Waldeck was acquired by leading recruitment firm, Morson Group. As part of the Morson Group family we have the stability and financial backing of a large organisation, with the luxury of operating and collaborating with clients as a smaller, more intimate consultancy.
To support a growing pipeline of exciting engineering projects, we are recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer to work in our multi-disciplinary team, based in either our Lincoln or Peterborough offices.
You will have opportunity to work on projects across various sectors and ranging from a few thousand to multi-million pounds in capital value. As part of this role you will also act as a mentor to junior team members, utilising your skills and expertise to provide advice and guidance.
Waldeck are seeking an engineer with a breadth of experience covering both super-structure, sub-structure and civil engineering elements and this breadth of experience will be reflected in the diversity of the projects and tasks that form part of the role.
Previous experience in the rail sector would be highly advantageous but is not essential, as training and mentorship will be offered for projects that require specialised skills.
The responsibilities within this role include:
* Lead and manage small to medium scale structural engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring quality, timeliness, and client satisfaction.
* Conduct detailed engineering analysis and design for various types of structures, including residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.
* Undertake the design of civil engineering elements including retaining structures, structural slopes, heavy duty pavements and transport infrastructure for both road and rail.
* Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, civil, mechanical and electrical engineers, to integrate structural designs seamlessly into overall project plans
* Proactively oversee the delivery of tasks being undertaken by engineers and technicians within your team, providing mentoring and guidance on methods of delivery to achieve time and budget targets.
* Ensure that the structural designs undertaken by you and your team adhere to relevant UK building codes, standards, regulations and project specific requirements.
* Implement the companies quality control measures to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of structural engineering calculations and drawings produced by you and your team.
* Maintaining relationships with the other stakeholders and suppliers.
* Identify opportunities to increase services provided on each project
* Participate in the preparation/presentation of proposals/bids as required including estimating timescales and costs for proposed works
The ideal candidate will have the below skills and experience:
* Demonstrable experience of your work on Structural engineering design, preferably in a consultancy environment.
* Degree qualified and chartered or incorporated with the IStructE or ICE, or working towards it would be advantageous. Equivalent qualification and experience will be considered and support will be provided via our accredited training programmes.
* Proficient in industry-standard structural analysis and design software
* Demonstrable ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and budget constraints
* Experience of working in a 3D digital environment with an understanding of Building Information Modelling (BIM) principles
Our organisation offers a range of exciting benefits including:
* 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays
* Full support and guidance towards chartership
* Company funded professional memberships
* Family-friendly policies
* Life assurance scheme
* 24/7 GP Access
* Funded team socials and events
* Mega-projects throughout the UK and internationally
* Employee Assistance Plan
