The City of North Las Vegas is pleased to announce the recruitment and selection process for the position of Manager, Development & Flood Control! This announcement provides background information about the organization, the requirements and expected qualifications for the position, and selection process information.

- Work Schedule - The schedule consists of Monday- Thursday, 7:00am to 5:00pm. This exempt position is not a remote position and requires in person attendance.
- Pay considerations – The salary range for this position is $97,715.37– $158,904.02. Salary offers will be made depending on qualifications and experience.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The City is filling one (1) vacancy for this position. We are looking for candidates who possess the ability to review and approve private projects related to flood control and utilities. In addition review of grading, drainage and offsite improvements. This position will also act as a floodplain administrator by enforcing local and regional flood control regulations. Also managing technical and professional staff.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a closely related field
- Five (5) years of professional civil engineering experience in the administration of ordinances and regulations, two (2) years of which were in a supervisory role
- OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Nevada Driver’s License.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Nevada.
- Certification through the Association of State Floodplain Managers Certified Floodplain Manager Program, or obtain certification within one (1) year of date of employment.
SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process will begin with a screening of the application/resume. The best qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the assessment process. The selection process will include:
- Prescreen Interview
- Oral board interview
This process may be modified to include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The City reserves the right to modify selection devices and test instruments in accordance with accepted legal, ethical, and professional standards.
Appointment may be subject to the successful and timely completion of a post offer pre-employment background investigation and medical/physical examination, including a drug/alcohol test.
