Senior Civil Engineer – Water & Wastewater

Albany, NY; Goshen, NY; or Red Hook, NY Office

 

Your Qualifications
•  Ideally 8 to 10 or more years’ experience in design, permitting and construction oversight for public and/or private potable water, wastewater, and stormwater systems in New York State.
•  Unwavering personal integrity
•  Strong verbal and written communication skills
•  Solid organizational and time management skills
•  Self-disciplined/motivated individual who also works well in a team environment
•  A positive attitude able to mentor and provide technical guidance to early career staff
•  Ability to organize and prioritize multiple project tasks and respond to client’s requests and schedule
•  Proven track record with client, regulatory and public communications.

Essential Requirements:

•  Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
•  NYS PE required; alternatively, applicants with PE Licensure in other states will be required to obtain NYS Licensure within 6-12 months of hire.
•  Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
•  Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.
•  Lead/support project management responsibilities including managing discrete tasks, project schedule and budget.
•  Provide direction, delegation and training to early career staff.

Responsibilities

This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your passion to make a difference in the world by supporting the design, permitting and construction of public works and industrial projects including but not limited to water, wastewater, stormwater, public buildings, environmental analysis, and unique projects that improve the quality of life in the Hudson Valley of New York State.

•  Act as a technical lead applying creative solutions to solve significant challenges.

•  Hone business acumen through developing client relationships that grow the business.

•  Perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to:
 o Prepare engineering reports, plans and specifications
 o Perform engineering design calculations
 o Analyze reports, maps, drawings, environmental data, and aerial  photographs
 o Manage projects and work as lead on project teams
 o Interact with clients and regulatory agencies as the project manager and  client representative
 o Mentor/lead staff
 o Present data to clients and/or regulatory agencies to support project  advancement
 o Presenting technical experience at company and regional  meetings/conferences
 o Provide internal Quality Assurance review on project design  calculations/projects prepared by other staff
 o Work with local municipalities and private corporations in environmental  consulting field
 o Lead/support construction administration responsibilities including periodic  site visits to active construction sites.
