Title: Service Engineer / Water Hygiene Engineer
Department: Operations
Reporting to: Engineering Manager
Salary: Dependent on experience
With over 30 years of industry experience, this company specialises in water treatment and hygiene. They are now offering an exciting opportunity for a Service Engineer to join their dynamic team.
Job Overview
The Service Engineer will carry out water hygiene and treatment tasks for a variety of clients across London and the South. Responsibilities include water sampling, TMV servicing, temperature monitoring, tank cleaning, domestic service disinfection, showerhead descaling, and closed system testing.
Key Responsibilities
Conducting water hygiene and treatment services for a wide range of water systems and equipment.
Assisting with the commissioning of water treatment equipment.
Ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation and Health and Safety standards, as well as company codes of practice.
Maintaining clear communication with both the operations team and clients, providing updates on job progress and reporting issues promptly.
Additional Responsibilities
Producing detailed reports on work completed.
Supervising and providing training for junior engineers and graduates.
Identifying opportunities for additional remedial work or potential new leads for the company.
Staying up to date with current water hygiene practices, legislation, and treatment products, and recommending training where necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
Knowledge of water treatment equipment such as water softeners, chlorine dioxide units, UV systems, and chemical dosing plant is beneficial.
Basic understanding of HSG274 and ACOP L8 is preferred, though full training will be provided.
Plumbing or electrical qualifications or experience are highly desirable.
Competence in using computers, particularly Word and Outlook.
Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent).
At least 2 years of practical site experience is advantageous.
Excellent planning, organising, and communication skills.
A full valid UK driving licence is required.
Ideal Candidate Profile
