In the role of Structural Engineer, you will carry out assessments and inspections on a variety of building materials, such as steel, concrete, masonry, and timber, for both new and existing structures. You will occasionally lead projects, ensuring that all technical outputs, including reports and calculations, meet high-quality standards. Your responsibilities will also include generating detailed technical reports, like dilapidation reports and due diligence structural surveys, and conducting both manual and software-based analyses using tools such as CSC Fastrak, Tekla, and TEDDS, among others. You'll collaborate with other design team members to deliver coordinated solutions that meet client objectives, working on diverse projects including offices, hotels, and large residential developments.
Qualifications and Experience
To qualify, you must hold a degree in Structural Engineering and have between 3 to 8 years of post-graduation experience in a consultancy environment, including at least 3 years in the UK. Experience in using structural analysis design software and familiarity with Eurocodes & British Standards are essential. Chartered status or near-chartered status (MICE or MIStructE) is preferred. Additionally, a clean driving license and a robust, positive work ethic are required. Experience with listed and historical buildings would be beneficial.
