Construction Assurance Engineer (Highways and Drainage), CAS, Construction Services
Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Construction Assurance Engineer to join one of UK's leading engineering and consulting firm specializing in civil, structural, and environmental engineering.
The Construction Assurance Engineer (Highways and Drainage), will oversee construction assurance for the HS2 MWCC sections C2 and C3, ensuring that all activities meet the client's scope of services. This role is crucial in maintaining adherence to contract requirements, design specifications, and quality standards. As a specialist in Highways and Drainage within Construction Services, your primary responsibility is to ensure that construction projects related to highways and drainage systems are executed to the highest standards of quality and compliance. This involves monitoring the construction process to ensure it aligns with regulatory standards, client specifications, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Examine all permanent works for highways and drainage to certify they are constructed, completed, tested, and commissioned according to design data and Works Information
Inspect, witness, and advise on tests; certify adequacy of works as required by the Quality Plan or contract.
Ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards within the Client organization.
Review construction documentation, including Quality Plans, Work Package Plans (WPPs), and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
Raise and review Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and track issue resolution.
Conduct audits of client's site Quality Management System (QMS) and construction assurance procedures. Inspect and audit field trials, instrumentation, and monitoring.
Contribute to Quarterly Reports and report results and KPIs to the Construction Assurance Manager.
Ensure all permanent construction works comply with approved designs, specifications, and contract requirements.
Review and implement Quality Plans, ITPs, and inspection procedures.
Ensure all client site-based staff and visitors are trained and inducted before working or visiting clients sites.
Qualification:
BSc/BEng in Civil or Highway Engineering.
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Design and Build, particularly on highways and drainage projects, preferably in rail or similar linear projects.
