Chartered Senior Structural Engineer
Dundee
£35-50k DOE
A leading Scottish consultancy has a need for a Chartered Structural Engineer at Senior grade to support their ongoing growth across the business. Areas covered include Structures, Infrastructure, Transportation, Hydrology, Flood Risk and Environmental disciplines across all sectors.
They provide in-house expertise for every aspect of development. From concept feasibility to planning approval. From infrastructure design to adopted roads and utilities. From structural design to SER certification for building warrant. Small or large we can help you achieve your development goals.
The Role
To provide engineering support and assistance to the Associate/ Director as required.
To manage technical outputs for projects on time; to the quality required and within the allocated budget, including Client contact.

Accountabilities
Preparation of fee quotations for projects
Overseeing and reviewing of the works of others.
Responsibility for the management of a project team with consideration to the agreed project budgetary limits and programme for a number of projects.
Extremely competent at developing structural solutions for projects in a range of materials.
Manage preparation of reports and other documentation as required.
Be proficient in the use of relevant technical analysis design software.
Promote the services of the company where appropriate.
Attendance at design team meetings, site meetings and carry out site inspections.
Liaise and communicate clearly in a professional manner to colleagues, clients, contractors and other designers and to offer advice and guidance on matters relating to your work.
Mentoring of staff members especially graduate engineers
Knowledge/Experience
Have an excellent track record of delivery of structural engineering projects.
Have a strong knowledge of the approval processes required within the construction industry
Excellent knowledge of the SER Scheme requirements:
Must be financially aware.
Be chartered or very close to it.
Additionals
Must show leadership and project management ability and take responsibility for technical and aspects of team outputs.
Ability to work without supervision is essential
You will have drive and determination to deliver projects to set timescales and budgets.
SER Approved Status is not necessary but would be preferred
Must be computer literate
Strong communication skills. Fluent written and verbal English.
Good team player
Ability to promote the company's ethos and represent the company in professional manner to staff, fellow professionals and Clients.
