A financially stable, privately-owned Civil Engineering Contractor is seeking to appoint a Site Engineer to its team based in the Midlands. They have recently secured two projects on the HS2 programme, with a total construction value approaching £70M. The work will primarily involve the construction of Reinforced Concrete (FRC) structures.
They have also decided to open a brand new regional office in the area and are looking to strengthen their position in the local market. There will be a clear opportunity for you to develop quickly while working as part of a high-caliber and high-performing team. All the work is self-delivered.
As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for:
Setting out from engineers' drawings, site surveys, and as-built drawings
Reading and interpreting drawings for layouts, material measurements, etc.
Managing subcontractors/general workforce on-site
Planning works efficiently to ensure programme targets are achieved
Liaising with clients' representatives and Design Team members as appropriate
Ensuring all work is carried out to the highest Health and Safety standards
Ensuring work is completed to the highest quality standards
Monitoring and recording materials on-site
Keeping records and reporting
To be successful in this position, it is anticipated that you:
Hold a relevant third-level qualification in construction or civil engineering
Have excellent IT skills
Have around 2 years of experience on construction sites (depending on role)
Hold a CSCS Card and SSSTS or SMSTS certification
Have a full driving licence
On offer is a salary of between £35,000 - £45,000 per annum with a generous benefits package.
